Marathon project:
During my Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts studies, I participated in the Composers Marathon Project under Alon Goldstein, held each semester. This project showcased a series of focused marathons, exploring significant classical works alongside contemporary compositions. We delved into the depths of D. Scarlatti's piano sonatas, Debussy's Preludes, J.S. Bach's Clavier-Übung I and II, Beethoven's violin and piano sonatas, Mozart's piano concertos, Brahms's extensive repertoire, Haydn's piano sonatas, C.P.E. Bach's works, and Schumann's compositions.
In addition to these classical marathons, the project was dedicated to presenting new music by emerging composers. We performed contemporary pieces, creating a dialogue between traditional and modern works, and drawing connections that enriched our understanding of both. This blend of old and new, alongside focused thematic explorations, provided a comprehensive and dynamic experience, celebrating the evolution and diversity of the piano repertoire.
